Jumping the Shark......

Ok, so after you carve a pug-kin, it can get kinda, well, shriveled. And not in a good way.   Pug-kin remain pristine and magazine photo-shoot-worthy for about 45 minutes.

Next year, we'll be doing our carving 1 week before the holiday, not 3 weeks early.   There is NO WAY this thing will last till Halloween.

Fortunately, the night views obscure the shriveled pumkin flesh.............

I give you, Illuminated Pug-kin!

See ya next year!

oh you pugkin is perfect all lit up!

we think it is fun to do stuff early too. i think my husband fred makes 3 thanksgiving turkeys before thanksgiving even arrives.

he says he is practicing to make the perfect turkey. i think he just like eating turkey. :)

i say if you feel inspired to do it... do it!

It looks great! And even if it does rot and wilt a little... it might just look like pug wrinkles!

Ohh! That's really really nice. Good job! Who said you couldn't do that?

I just did a Utube search and found that Vaseline rubbed all over the exposed flesh will keep it looking fresh longer. I don't know about 2 weeks but should help.

I WAS going to try this. I was! Now it seems we will be visiting family for Halloween so, the pugkin shall be attempted next year.

They do get a little squishy quick...and moldy, too. You should check into getting one of those fakes that you can carve and will always be fresh!

That's a great job. I didn't know it didn't last that much. :(
